Project:About
MatVoc Wikibase is a management system for materials science vocabulary. Within the MatVoc namespace, there are multiple dictionaries defined to provide a collaborative lexical space. This project was formerly hosted by NIMS at https://matvoc.nims.go.jp/ and is now being hosted on Wikibase Cloud. See Project:Migration for details.
In MatVoc, vocabulary registration involves automatic assignment of a vocabulary ID (QID), and provides representative names (labels), synonyms (aliases), definitions (descriptions), and broader categories (upper classes). These vocabularies are defined within the MatVoc namespace (https://matvoc.wikibase.cloud/entity/) and have shareable URIs (uniform resource identifiers), i.e. global IDs that can be accessed from anywhere.
SPARQL endpoint is at https://matvoc.wikibase.cloud/query/sparql. SPARQL can also be submitted from an online editor at https://matvoc.wikibase.cloud/query/
